Bumblebee Identification in NW Sutherland
July 12 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm
Assynt Field Club is delighted to have been able to organise, and host, this bumblebee identification course in association with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
The aim of this one day event is to help you to identify most of the bumblebee species found in the area, including the rare Great Yellow bumblebee.
The morning indoor session will cover bumblebee ecology, lifecycle and conservation, and will be followed by an afternoon field practice session in nearby flower-rich habitat where you will gain confidence in how to safely catch and identify bumblebees. No previous experience necessary.
You must book a place for this free event; however, if you are able, a suggested donation of £10 would help the Trust’s conservation work in Scotland.
What will you need: a lunch and suitable footwear for a short walk. If you have a hand lens, net or ID guide then do bring them along, although these will be available to borrow on the day.
The Trust’s booking form is available through this link BCT Booking Form. If you have any difficulty using this link/form then you can email email@example.com
