Single Goldeneye at Loch Ailsh 7th November (Doug Mainland). First bird of the winter.
Single Barn Owl at Clashnessie 12th November (Vanessa Ling)
Single 1st-winter Whooper Swan at Inverkirkaig 13th November (Alex Dickson). This bird had been injured by swallowing a length of discarded fishing line with a hook attached. The fishing line was removed but the hook had been swallowed.

Woodcock a large wave of these birds seems to have arrived. They can typically be seen at the side of the roads during darkness. Reported 20th November (Roz Summers)
