  • Goldeneye: Pair on Cam Loch (AS)
  • Black-throated Diver: Single Adult back on Cam Loch (AS)
  • Frog Spawn: Seven clumps in small Lochan near Elphin (AS)

27th February 2019

  • Grey Wagtail: Adult female or first year male on the shores of Glencanisp Loch (Loch Druim Suardalain) (AS)
  • White-tailed Bumblebee: Single feeding on gorse at Glencanisp Lodge (Gordon Robertson)
  • Grey Heron: At least five birds in trees at the Heronry in Culag woods
  • Long-tailed Tits: Pair in Culag wood (AS)
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker: 4 in the woods at Glencanisp Lodge (Stuart Belshaw)

  • Pied Wagtail: male and female, Culkein Drumbeg (DAH) and a single male, Achmelvich (Romany Garnett)
  • Bullfinch: 5 male and one female in garden at Baddidarach, Lochinver (Ken Fairchild)

  • Dipper: single bird on Abhainn a' Chnocain, east of bridge between Elphin and Knockan (Helen O'Keefe)
  • Slow worm: Single in drystane dyke at Inverkirkaig (Paul Adrian)
  • Black-throated Diver: three birds, almost in full summer plumage, Achmelvich Bay (DAH)
  • Slow-worm: single animal on greenhouse path, Inverkirkaig (Mary Bangor-Jones)

  • Mountain Hare: single animal Gleann Leireag, near where the Allt Mhathain is closest to the B869 (Ian and Manfred Evans)
  • Lapwing: seven males flying around Culkein Stoer (DAH)

  • Primrose: single plant with five flowers in ditch at beginning of path along River Kirkaig (Gwen Richards)
  • Red-breasted Merganser: pair in Badnaban Bay (Dave Bird)
  • Rook: single adult bird feeding near cattle, Clashnessie Beach (DAH)
  • Frog spawn: several clumps in garden pond, School House, Drumbeg (Nancy Millar)

  • Seven-spot Ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata): single insect, Torbreck (Jo Wright). An uncommon Assynt record for one of the most common ladybirds in the country.
  • Little Grebe: single bird on unnamed loch, Torbreck (Gwen Richards)
