YOUNG WILDCATS – Water fountains to reduce plastic

March 4th 2019

The children who attend Lochinver Wildlife Watch have been discussing the issue of plastic in our environment and sustainability of our community. They have come up with this great idea to help reduce the use of plastic bottles in Lochinver and wanted to share it with Assynt Community Council and Assynt Development Trust to see if we can make it happen.

“We think it would be a good idea if we put a water fountain in Lochinver play park and kirk road play park because we don’t want people to use waste so much plastic water bottles and not put them in the bin. If everyone had their own water bottle they could fill it from the fountain like the one in the leisure centre. This is what we think it should look like.”
