  • Peregrine: single bird taking small wader, possibly Ringed Plover, Culkein Stoer (Paul Burnett)
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker: single female in Torbreck Garden (Paul Burnett)
  • Lesser Redpoll: three birds in Torbreck garden (Paul Burnett). This seems to be an exceptional year for this species with their 'morse-code' flight song being heard throughout Assynt.

  • Basking Shark: single animal off Stoerhead Lighthouse (Hiro Suzuki). Quite an early record for Assynt and it follows a report of one off Handa two days earlier.
  • White-tailed Eagle: single juvenile bird over Stoer, circled slowly then flew off south-east (Claire Belshaw)
  • Golden Plover: single bird on grazings, Balchladich (Janet French)
  • Minke Whale: single adult and an adult plus calf off Stoerhead Lighthouse (DAH) 
  • Risso’s Dolphin: at least four, probably six, animals off Stoerhead Lighthouse (DAH)
  • Harbour Porpoise: four animals off Stoerhead Lighthouse (DAH)
  • Red-throated Diver: four birds, Clashnessie Bay (DAH)

  • Arctic Skua: two pale morph birds harassing a Great Skua, Raffin area (DAH). These two birds are likely to have a nest nearby given the aggression shown to the Great Skua.

  • Kittiwake: 300+ birds dip feeding off Bay of Stoer (DAH)
