  • Hen Harrier: Single ring-tail at Stronchubie near Inchnadamph (Chris Rix)

  • Curlew: 23 birds on flooded crofts, Clachtoll (AS)
  • Teal: Six birds at lochan at Clachtoll crofts (AS)
  • Teal: Nine birds flying around Lochan na Leobaig, Culkein Drumbeg (DAH)

28th December 2020

  • Otter: Single animal feeding, Bay of Stoer (DAH). Photo Gallery - Land Mammals
  • Peregrine Falcon: Single male bird carrying prey, Culkein Stoer (DAH)
  • Oystercatcher: 12 birds, Bay of Culkein (DAH). This included one bird with a set of coloured rings on its legs. Having seen this bird the past two winters we know, thanks to the Iceland Wader Ringing Group, that it is a visitor from Eskifjorour, Iceland where it breeds.
  • Turnstone: Five birds, Bay of Culkein (DAH)
  • Curlew: 12 birds on grazing, Culkein Stoer (DAH)
  • Mixed Thrushes: Song Thrush, 11+ birds; Blackbird, 5+; single Redwing and Mistle Thrush, Culkein Stoer (DAH)
  • Teal: Six birds (three pairs) Loch Neil Bhain (DAH)
  • Goldeneye: Two male birds, Loch Drumbeg (DAH)
  • Twite: 31 birds at Clachtoll (AS)
  • Guillemot: Dead winter plumage bird at Achmelvich beach (AS)

  • Barnacle Goose: 10+ birds feeding on Eilean Chrona (DAH)
  • Mallard: Seven male and seven female ducks on Loch an Aigeil, Stoer (AS)
  • Twite: 21 birds coming down to seed provided in garden at Clachtoll (AS)

  • Turnstone: Eight+ birds feeding in washed-up kelp along with two Redshank, Bay of Culkein (Ian Evans)

  • Great Spotted Woodpecker: Single bird, Culkein Drumbeg (Carol Langford)

  • Common Frog: Single amphibian crossing B869 road to Stoer near the Scron mid afternoon viewpoint (AS). Temperature was a mild 9 degrees.
