  • Chiffchaff: Single bird heard singing in Culag Wood (Jane Young)
  • Lapland Bunting: Two male birds feeding on newly scattered grass seed, Rustic Cabins, Achnacarnin (Murray Anderson). The first report of this passage species on its way to Iceland since 2016.   • Mixed Gulls: Common Gull-42; Herring Gull-30; Great Black-backed Gull-8 and a single Lesser Black-backed Gull, all Loch Kirkaig (DAH)

  • Wheatear: Two birds, Elphin (Dave Clark)
  • Arctic Redpoll: Single bird with characteristics of the Hornemann's race of this species in garden at Rhicarn (Tracey Aird). This report is provisional as the record has to be submitted to, and accepted by, the British Birds Rarities Committee. It would be the first record of Arctic Redpoll in Assynt, the sixth ever in Highland and the first ever of this particular race in Highland.

  • Whimbel: Single bird flying with a curlew but giving distinctive seven-note call at Culkein Stoer (AS)
  • Great Skua: Single bird resting on moored creel boat, Lochan na Leobaig, Culkein Drumbeg (DAH)
  • Greenshank: Single bird calling, Oldany estuary (DAH)
  • Eider: Four birds (3 male, 1 female), Lochan na Leobaig, Culkein Drumbeg (DAH)
  • Wheatear: Four birds, Culkein Drumbeg (DAH)
  • Pink-footed Goose: Several reports of birds on the move again including 213 over Culkein Drumbeg (DAH), c200 over Torbreck (Cheryl Smith) and c.300 over Ardvar garden (Beccy Garvey)

  • Black Guillemot: Three birds in full breeding plumage off Bay of Culkein (DAH)
  • Snipe: Two birds calling, 'chipper chipper' Culkein Stoer (DAH)
  • Golden Plover: 10 birds, Culkein Stoer (DAH)
  • Redwing: 30+ birds in trees around Nedd garden (Ian Evans) and six in trees at Culkein Stoer (DAH)

1st April 2021

  • Whooper Swan: 14 birds flying over Ardvar garden (Beccy Garvey)
  • Violet Oil Beetle (Meloe violaceus): Single beetle in Ardvar garden (Beccy Garvey)
  • Wheatear: Pair seen at Clashnessie and a single male at Stoer (DAH). The geese are leaving and the Wheatear have arrived on the same day. Both making use of the better weather.
  • Pink-footed Goose: Numerous skeins seen and heard over several locations today with the first being 80+ birds over Culkein Drumbeg (DAH). Always sad to see them leaving but this is the first decent spell of weather they have had to make the journey to Iceland.
  • Otter: Single animal feeding in Loch Inver well out from Church of Scotland (DAH)
  • Greenshank: Single bird on east shore, Loch Nedd (Ian Evans)
