  • Harbour Porpoise: Three animals at various distances off Clachtoll (DAH)

  • Minke Whale: Single animal off Stoer Head Lighthouse (Chris Jepson-Brown)

  • Azure Hawker Dragonfly (Aeshna caerulea): Single patrolling on the hillside by Suileag Bothy (Chris Jepson-Brown)
  • Golden-ringed Dragonfly (Cordulegaster boltonii): Single, Loch na Barrack just below northern slopes of Suilven (Chris Jepson-Brown)
  • Water Lobelia (Lobelia dortmanna): 20+ plants, Loch a' Choire Dhuibh (Christopher Neal Jepson-Brown)

  • Giant Tachinid Fly (Tachina grossa): Single fly, Sidhean àrd (NC165317) Dave McBain
  • Stoat: Single animal in Culkein Stoer garden (Annella Bulch)
  • Shelduck: Two adult birds and nine juveniles off Culkein Drumbeg (DAH). Sadly a very rare record now for Assynt, but great to know we had at least one breeding pair this year.
  • House Martin: 15+ birds around Culkein Drumbeg jetty (DAH) and large number also around Culag Hotel, Lochinver. (Andrew Mackenzie) Both records late evening.
  • Common Lizard: Single animal, Clashmore (Andrew Mackenzie)

  • Red-throated Diver: Two birds, Bay of Stoer (DAH)
  • Common Dolphin: 15+ very active animals just off Sgeir Mhòr, Loch Kirkaig (DAH)
  • Black-throated Diver: Six birds in a group, Loch Kirkaig (DAH)
  • Antler moth (Cerapteryx graminis): Single moth in Strathan garden (Jean Macleod)
  • Magpie moth (Abraxas grossulariata): Single moth Clachtoll, (Dorell Pirie)
  • Otter: Two (possibly three) swimming by the kelp about 20m from seals, Loch Dhrombaig (Lana Bracewell)

  • Spotted Flycatcher: Single adult bird feeding from various trees, Culag Woods (DAH)
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker: Single bird calling, Culag Woods (DAH)
  • Scotch Argus Butterfly: Seven butterflies counted around Loch Poll, Drumbeg including mating pair (AS)
  • Bullfinch: Two birds calling, Culag Woods (DAH)
  • Emerald Damselfly (Lestes sponsa): Two, possibly newly emerged, east of Loch nan Cullach (Gwen Richards/Ian Evans)
  • Grey Heron: Single bird flying into reeds, Loch an Aigeil (Charlie Leeson)

  • Sea Mayweed (Tripleurospermum maritimum): At least three plants, Balchladich beach (Cheryl Smith)
  • Chicken of the Woods fungus (Laetiporus sulphureus): Billie's path, Culag Woods on 20-7-21 and Croft 83, Torbreck on 6-7-21 (Gwen Richards). Both specimens were on conifers.

  • Flapper Skate: Single adult washed up dead on Stoer beach. It originally came ashore at Stoer with injuries likely caused by accidental fishing several days previous. It was re-floated and swam back to sea but obviously, sadly died from its injuries. (AS) 
  • Jackdaw: c.50 birds, Elphin (DAH)
  • Black-throated Diver: Nine birds in tight group, Loch Kirkaig (Mike Dawber)

  • Dark Green Fritillary: Single butterfly on Nature Trail, Glencanisp (Claire Belshaw)
  • Common Dolphin: c.10 very active animals south of Kirkaig Point (Mike Dawber)
  • Magpie moth: Numerous moths up Allt nan Uamh and further on (Pete Barron)
  • Northern Eggar moth: Single newly emerged moth, Breabag (Pete Barron)
  • Ptarmigan: Two coveys: one of 4 birds; one of 5 birds and two individual females, west side of Breabag (Pete Barron) 
  • Golden Plover: Two adult birds and a not yet flying juvenile, west side of Breabag (Pete Barron)
