- Black-throated diver: 13 adults and 1 immature bird, Achmelvich Bay (Mark Fairless)
- Red-throated diver: 14 birds, Bay of Stoer and 2 birds, Loch Inver (Mark Fairless)
- Common Dolphin: 12+ very active animals off Bay of Stoer (CADL)
- Giant Woodwasp (Urocerus gigas): Two of these large (c35mm long) harmless woodwasps in a Strathan garden (Donald Campbell)
- Cetaceans: Andy Summers, the Highlife Highland Countryside Ranger and Assynt Field Club held their annual evening cetacean watch at Stoer Head Lighthouse today. It was a sunny evening and the sea was by no means flat calm. The 100 or so people that turned up were treated to the following sightings- Harbour Porpoise x 2, Risso's Dolphin x 3 (mother and calf plus another single adult), numerous Common Dolphins, and at least three Humpback Whales that were breaching and creating massive splashes that could be clearly seen with the naked eye. A very enjoyable evening, and a massive thank you to all the Assynt residents and visitors that came along.

- Fin Whale: Two large whales c5km off Stoer Head Lighthouse on a bearing of 268°+/- (DAH/Charlie Leeson). This sighting was definitely not Minke Whale as strong, very high blows were clearly visible. Minke Whale does not produce such a blow. The other possibility was Sei Whale. However, the two animals seen lacked the taller, straighter dorsal fin of the Sei, their blows were dense and very tall, and they were more grey in colour than the much darker, almost black Sei Whale.
