- Greenland Wheatear: Single 1st-winter bird, Stoer cemetery (DAH). This bird is not a separate species from the wheatears we normally see in Assynt, but it is of the sub-species Oenanthe oenanthe leucorhoa. This sub-species breeds in the high Arctic and also winters in Africa along with 'our' wheatears. At this time of year it has much stronger colouring than our birds. Photo Gallery - Birds
