- Dipper: Single bird in burn above Ardvreck Castle (Stefan Taylor). Seen twice at this location in a week.
- Blackbird: Single bird, Culkein Drumbeg (Carol Langford). This bird had a black beak which indicates it is a first winter male.

- Brent Goose: Single 1st-winter bird, Bay of Culkein (DAH). From the plumage of this bird it appeared to be the ssp. Branta bernicula hrota which we would expect to see here, and so has most likely come from high-arctic Canada via Greenland. Photo Gallery - Birds
- Bar-tailed Godwit: Two 1st-winter birds, Bay of Culkein (DAH). One of these birds had a combination of coloured-rings on its legs. We have reported this to the appropriate ringing project and will give an update on receipt of their reply. UPDATE 10-10-23 - we have heard from the Museum Stavanger that this bird was ringed on 22 Sept 2023 at Makkevika Wildlife Reserve in Norway. At that time it weighed 271.2 g. So in 16 days it had travelled 782 km..
