Albacore Tuna fish washed up dead in Assynt

October 20th 2011

A very unusual sight greeted one of our members recently when walking at Culkein Stoer. This large dead fish turned out to be an Albacore Tuna fish. We have no idea how it got to be in the sea around Assynt as its home is really very much further south. It was discovered by Gwen Richards on 9th October 2011.Albecore Tuna fish found at Culkein Stoer
