Recording – Bringing Beavers Back to Cairngorms National Park

May 1st 2026

On Thursday 23rd April 2026, Jonathan Willet of Cairngorms National Park Authority presented a talk to the Assynt Field Club at Stoer village hall. After an absence of 400 years, beavers were re-introduced to the upper River Spey catchment in the Cairngorms National Park in 2023. Numbers have increased to over 60 and Jonathan has been responsible for monitoring their activities, liaising with landowners and raising the awareness of the public to these fascinating rodents.

A live recording of the talk was made. Due to the large file size, the recording is hosted on our YouTube channel. This link to the recording of the presentation will therefore take you away from our website.
