Guided Walk to the Bone Caves, Inchnadamph
[Please note this is not an Assynt Field Club event. We are advertising the Highlife Highland Countryside Ranger events for Assynt to help support the vital work of the Ranger Service, and to offer more opportunities to learn about the area]
Ranger led walk to hear the amazing story of the nationally important Bone Caves. The walk will go through the amazing limestone scenery.
Learn why the Bone Caves are so important and the secrets they reveal about the earth’s climate in the past.
Guided walk back in time to just after the ice-age where the bones of reindeer, polar bears and even humans were discovered in the caves. Learn about what this tells us about the earth’s climate and animals that used to live in Scotland.
Stout footwear is essential. It is a good path but steep in places. Total distance for this walk is 5km.
Meet at the Bone Caves car park 4km south of Inchnadamph. Grid Ref: NC250200.
