Where Geology meets Archaeology: New Evidence of a Norse Settlement on the North Coast

Tonight Bjorn Hardarson from the Durness Deep Time Exhibition will introduce us to the fascinating evidence for a Norse settlement at Faraid Head.

This will be a blended talk with both a live audience and others joining us by Zoom.

Field Club members will receive the Zoom link automatically. If you are not a member but would like to attend the meeting via Zoom please email us (assyntwildlife@gmail.com) and simply request the link.

Please note our permanent earlier start time of 7.30pm AND the location – Rhue Stoer Community Hall

Our indoor events are open to all and are free to under 16’s

Those attending this meeting in person are reminded that the current Covid-19 protection measures must be followed to safeguard themselves and others. Briefly then-

  • you must wear a face covering while not seated, unless exempt from the requirement to do so
  • if possible please bring the correct entry money (£3.00) to minimise cash handling
  • please use the hand sanitiser on arrival but after paying
  • please maintain a distance of at least 1 metre at all times from others attending
