Single bird, Bay of Culkein (DAH/Morag Moir). This is an unusual winter record for Assynt. Our breeding Lapwings tend to depart as soon as the youngsters can fly, and we don’t see them again until the following year. There is a notable wintering population on the Uists so perhaps it was a bird from there?
