The Kylesku Project – Painting with Sound (7th June to 3rd July 2021)
The Kylesku Project is a landscape artwork created by sound engineers, Graham Byron and Drew Kirkland and landscape painter Keith Salmon.
The work, which comprises a 30-minute-long high-quality stereo soundtrack and five 120cm x 120cm oil paintings, combines the historic traditions of landscape painting with modern audio recording technology. This artwork explores the magnificent Assynt landscape near Kylesku in a way that offers an immersive landscape art experience, and one that is more accessible to the visually impaired.
The exhibition of this artwork is part of Assynt Field Club’s ‘Sounds of Nature Project’ which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and NatureScot.
You can visit the Kylesku Project exhibition from Monday 7 June to Saturday 3 July between 09.00 and 19.00 daily except Sundays.
